About

The Palliative Care Society of Trinidad and Tobago was established in April 2011. According to the WHO, palliative care “is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual”.

Our goals are to transform the care available to persons with life-threatening illnesses and their families in Trinidad and Tobago through increased medical support, social support and advocacy. We are also dedicated to improving training and education about palliative care.

The PCSTT is a young organization composed of doctors, health-care professionals, parents and families who know first-hand the difficulties of caring for a terminally ill patient.  On this website you will find information about palliative care internationally and in Trinidad and Tobago,  our current directors, events and future projects in the works.
